It’s like a golf ball lesson to share the gospel and teach kids that if you really love God, you’ll show His love to others. The Bible verse used to reinforce the doctrine is 1 John 4: 7-11.

(Show the golf ball.) What’s this ball for? (Hit the golf clubs and fall into the hole.) You and I are also created for a purpose, and that is to know and love God in a special way.
This ball did not come by chance. Many studies and works have been done to make this ball as far away as possible. The core material (which you do not see) is designed to be the right size, shape and weight to cover the distance. Others are also designed to allow more rotation of the ball so that a good player gains more control. The cover material must also be well designed. It should be smooth to avoid excessive friction when the ball is moving in the air, and fast enough to hit golf clubs. Even the number, size and shape of the dimples on the ball have been carefully studied. They even have a specific purpose.
You and I didn’t have any accidents. In Genesis, the Word of God made clear to us. Not only did he make us do it; has a reason. He wants us and I to be able to teach her in a special way and to really teach her to love her.
No wasting golf ball material. Each part has a plan and purpose, even parts you don’t see. Hours and hours of study and work were put into making this ball, all for the basic purpose; that the player can hit the ball as far as possible without breaking it. You and I are also created to know God in a special way and to learn to love Him. You will begin to fulfill this purpose when you believe in the Lord Jesus as your Savior from sin. If you believe in Jesus, this is just the beginning. To learn to love God, you must know Him. The way to do this is to set aside time each day to pray, read and study the Bible and make it a part of your daily life. In 1 John 4, God tells us that we should love one another because love is of God. Because he loves us, we must pass this love on to others. When you show his love to others; your love for him will grow. If you truly love God, you will show His love for others.
